Performance Capture node

Use a recording of a real performance to drive the movement in your shot.

Performance Capture takes a video of someone acting — a gesture, a walk, a head turn — and uses that movement to drive your shot. The look comes from your reference; the motion comes from the recording.

This is how you get a specific performance rather than whatever the model invents. If you need the character to do exactly what you did on camera, record it and use it here.

  1. Record or upload a clip of the performance you want.
  2. Add a Performance Capture node and choose that clip.
  3. Wire it into the performance input on the node that will make the shot.
  4. Add a reference for how the character should look.

Frame the recording the way you want the shot framed. A tight close-up drives a close-up better than a wide shot does.
